- The combination of Foton’s expert manufacturing and Huawei’s technology gives the alliance an edge in leading the trend for green heavy-duty logistics.
The Chinese company Beiqi Foton announced, it is joining forces with Huawei Digital Power to promote technology for heavy-duty battery vehicles and to set up an intended ultra-fast battery charging network. This project works toward introducing electric trucks on a wide scale within the logistics industry.
By bringing together Foton’s strong presence in commercial vehicle making and Huawei Digital Power’s improvements in digital and electronics, they have reached an agreement. Both plan to take on major problems facing battery-powered trucks, for example, slow charging and reduced performance. Foton emphasized that the partnership will accelerate the shift from “limited-use cases” to “an era of fully electric logistics,” significantly reducing logistics costs and carbon emissions.
Back in the early months of 2025, Huawei Digital Power announced its ultra-fast charging technology for heavy-duty trucks powered by megawatt electricity. The company says this technology can produce up to 2,400 amps, which makes it four times more efficient in terms of charging than current systems. Huawei claims that its chargers can give a heavy truck a range of 100 kilometers with just five minutes of charging. This advance helps remove a key problem with electric trucks long charging periods, making electrifying logistics more possible.

Foton is working on bringing commercial vehicles that work with Huawei’s state-of-the-art charging tech to market faster. The main objective is to improve business operations by delivering smarter and more environmentally friendly solutions for commercial vehicles. A major part of the partnership involves providing ultra-fast charging stations to meet the increasing number of electric trucks on Chinese roads.
The project supports Foton’s mission to create a variety of electrified vehicles, including cars with batteries, hybrids, and fuel cell systems. The combination of Foton’s expert manufacturing and Huawei’s technology gives the alliance an edge in leading the trend for green heavy-duty logistics, supporting China’s push for greener transportation.
