Alibaba’s cloud services and the IMDA (Infocomm Media Development Authority) are collaborating to accelerate the digital transformation of local SMEs and digital solution providers in Singapore. With this initiative, launched on the tenth anniversary of its Singapore operation, Alibaba Cloud emphasizes its lasting effort to empower Singapore’s digital progress using cloud and AI technologies.

Singapore relies heavily on its SMEs, since they make up over 99 percent of its companies and hire seven out of ten local employees. As part of the program, Alibaba Cloud creates a route for them to grow by offering custom help, technical guidance, and marketing support to increase their chances of success.

The program will give up to 3,000 SMEs and digital solutions providers access to a complete set of tools and information to help with new technology adoption. Eligible people get $1,000 in cloud credits, which can be used for many Alibaba Cloud products to help save on fees and boost their adoption. Six AI workshops will be held every year, which will help participants learn about Alibaba Cloud’s Qwen LLM and Model Studio for building generative AI applications.

“As a global leader in cloud computing and AI innovation, Alibaba Cloud brings world-class technology and deep industry expertise to empower Singapore’s SMEs on their digital journey,” said Selina Yuan, President of International Business, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence. “We are honored to collaborate with IMDA to support the government’s vision of a vibrant digital economy. We are not only enabling businesses to adopt advanced cloud and AI tools but also fostering an ecosystem of continuous learning and digital resilience that will position Singapore as a leading smart nation in the years ahead.”

By equipping businesses with the right tools and knowledge, we are strengthening the foundation of enterprises to be future-ready for Singapore’s digital economy.”

At the time of this program launch, Alibaba Cloud is celebrating its tenth anniversary in Singapore which has seen it work with government agencies, companies and innovators to help create digital infrastructure and boost capabilities locally.
